Sambro Island Lighthouse Restoration

Location: Sambro Island, NS

The Sambro Island Lighthouse is the oldest operating lighthouse in the “Americas”. The rehabilitation of this historic lighthouse included extensive abatement and historic cleaning, rebuilding concrete structures (base collar, gallery sub level collar) historic restoration of lantern and gallery guardrails, repainting interior finishes and framing, repairs to heritage wood windows and spiral stairs, repair to exterior cedar shakes, and complete repainting the exterior façade.
